Dr. LaTrenta offers liposuction to permanently eliminate fat from trouble spots like the abdomen, buttocks, thighs and neck.
Liposuction is a body sculpting procedure performed in the office under intravenous sedation in which localized deposits of fat in one or more areas of the body are removed through tiny incisions using a narrow tube or cannula.
Liposuction body contouring can help avoid the need for more complex surgical procedures such as face lift, neck lift, thigh lift, tummy tuck and arm lift, which makes it extremely popular with our patients.
You may wish to consider liposuction if you are within 20-30 pounds of your ideal weight, yet still have localized deposits of excess fat and subcutaneous tissue or desire enhanced body contouring in the following regions:
- Cheeks, jowls and neck,
- Upper posterior arms,
- Breast or chest areas, especially in men (Gynecomastia),
- Upper back and brassiere line,
- Abdomen and waist,
- Hips and buttocks,
- Inner and outer thighs, and/or
- Ankles
You will have pain and soreness for a day or two in the areas where liposuction has been performed.
You will feel better in about a week and you should be back at work within a few days following your surgery.
The stitches are removed one week after surgery.
You may need to wear a protective compression garment for several weeks after the procedure.
Most people are able to return to exercise 7 to 10 days after the procedure.
It may take up to several months for the swelling to subside, but the final results will be long lasting. If you watch your weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle, you will coninue to enjoy a slimmer, more well proportioned body.
